Product Returns Policy

Daitem operate a strict returns policy on all of our products.

The standard warranty guarantee is for 2 years.
This is extendable to either 3 years for Doorphone products or 5 years for Alarm products by returning to the warranty registration form included with the product, within 10 days of the product being purchased. Please note that the GSM dialler warranty is not extendable.

* PLEASE NOTE * we will only except returned goods which have a Returns Authorisation Number (RAN).

If goods are returned without a valid RAN we cannot be responsible for those goods and may return them to you. You can only receive a valid RAN direct from Daitem.

In order that any returned items can be processed efficiently please make sure that any returned items are accompanied by a Returns Note quoting the RAN and stating the fault or symptoms!

Below is a brief overview of our requirements which you are subject to when you place an order, receive goods or have a fault and may require an RAN. All sections are relevant to any returns...
 

Products being returned
 
  • Shipping costs are always paid by the sender.
  • Packaging must be able to resist the hazards of transport.
  • All material damaged during transit will be considered as being not covered by the warranty.
  • All parcels presented in bad condition by the carrier will be refused by our reception.
  • All returns must include a note with details of the sender, the reason for the return and the RAN number.
  • All refunds, credits and replacements are at the discretion of Daitem.

Products ordered by mistake or incorrect items delivered  

  • Contact the distributor / seller where you purchased the goods. If you purchased them directly from Daitem then contact Daitem Sales.
  • You must notify your seller within 7 days of receiving an order if items are missing or incorrect.
  • If you ordered incorrectly then you may be charged a restocking fee.
  • Products must be returned complete with all their accessories and in the original packaging.

Products which appear faulty during engineer installation process or after

  • Products should only be installed by engineers who are qualified to install and in accordance with all local required standards.
  • Daitem can not be held responsible for installations of our products....
  • Including incorrectly fitted products which may fail to operate correctly.
  • Mechanical or electronic modification of the product.
  • Using another power supply than that which is recommended by Daitem.
  • Installation that does not comply with the Daitem’s specifications.
  • Products and sub-units not manufactured by Daitem.
  • It is the installers responsibility to maintain the installation.
  • If an installer is having problems during an installation then, that installer must fully read all instruction manuals supplied and call in there own qualified person if necessary.
  • An installer can get additional help from their supplier or from our Technical Library or our Support Forum.
  • If an installer continues to have difficulties then they can contact a Daitem Technical Support Specialist via our telephone support hotline.

Products which have been working but appear faulty sometime after the initial installation

  • Please note all products are covered by a minimum two year guarantee against genuine electronics failure. This is extendable for free when a product warranty registration card is returned to Daitem within 10 days of purchase. The period of the extended warranty is as per the registration card which is included with your product.
  • Products are not covered by vandalism, misuse, heavy handedness, extreme weather conditions or environments, power surges & battery failures etc.
  • Customers are invited to seek help from our Support Forum or from a Daitem Technical Support Specialist.
  • We do stock spare parts, factory refurbished parts or alternative replacement parts for all products sold in the UK.
  • To identify the suspected faulty part and correct replacement (not all parts are interchangeable) you must contact a Daitem Technical Support Specialist.
  • If you are an installation or service company then please contact a Daitem Support Specialist prior to visiting site or at least during your site visit.
  • Replacement parts will be charged for if they are outside the guarantee period.
  • To honour guarantees you will need to provide proof of purchase.
  • Parts supplied in replacement will not extend the guarantee of a complete system.    
  • Atral (UK) Ltd., Daitem, do not undertake repair of returned products and do not provide a service for site maintenance or site repairs.
  • If a complete system is returned under warranty, Atral Daitem undertakes to identify the faulty unit and replace it under warranty with a new or factory refurbished unit. We do not undertake to replace the entire system or kit, only the faulty part will be replaced and the system will then be returned!
